Danijel Danković

At the meeting of representatives of IEEE SB Niš and EESTEC LC Niš held at the end of January 2010, an initiative was made to organize the conference "IEEESTEC 3rd Student project conference". Immediately afterwards, this conference was announced to be approved by the IEEE Section Serbia and Montenegro. A detailed explanation of the invitation letter for the conference was given at the annual meeting of the IEEE Section Serbia and Montenegro, held at the ETRAN conference in Donji Milanovac on June 8, 2010, when the initiative was accepted.

We sent a call for the conference to authors of papers from previous conference, to all student organizations in Serbia, student branches of IEEE, and to all members of the IEEE Section Serbia and Montenegro. The total number of received papers is 24 (in the field of: electronics, microelectronics, telecommunications, automatics, power engineering, informatics etc.). All works have passed the review phase, with a minimum of three reviews being provided for each paper. In the review process, 30 teachers and assistants of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering in Niš helped us. Based on the received reviews, 3 best rated works were selected:

First place
Paper: Real-Time sensor microsystem with Data Logger
Authors: D. Nešić, S. Dević
Institution: Faculty of Electronic Engineering Niš, Department: Microelectronics

Second place
Paper: Fuzzy Rover - Speed control of a vehicle by a wireless fuzzy controller
Authors: Ž. Kalezić, D. Anđelković, M. Kostić
Institution: Faculty of Electronic Engineering Niš, Department: Computer science

Third place
Paper: Human Machine Interface (HMI) for remote control of mobile robot with Win32 desktop and Web application
Authors: B. Ćirić, M. Božić
Institution: Faculty of Electronic Engineering Niš, Department: Computer science and Control systems

Based on the received papers, the Faculty of Electronic Engineering in Niš published the Proceedings of the "IEEESTEC 3rd Student Project Conference", ISBN: 978-86-6125-021-7 (Proceedings + Disc). Editors of the Proceedings are: prof. Dr Ninoslav Stojadinović, prof. Dr Bratislav Milovanović, prof. Dr Vera Marković and prof. Dr Goran S. Đorđević. The conference was organized by the Organizing Committee consisting of: Dr Danijel Danković, teaching assistant Dušan Vučković, and Darko Todorović, assistant.

The conference was officially opened by the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering in Niš, prof. Dr Zoran Perić. On behalf of the IEEE Serbia and Montenegro Section, the participants were greeted by prof. Dr. Vera Marković, Secretary of the Section.

The three best-rated papers were presented verbally. All papers (including awarded) were presented as poster section in the hall of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering in Niš. In addition to posting posters in the four-hour time, the authors also used PowerPoint presentations, simulations on the computer, models and finished products/projects. The authors themselves selected the most interesting paper:
